See what you're building toward.
v1.10.0 does two big things and one small thing:
- Home shows your next rung. Every recommended workout now names the next rung on your skill roadmap it's building toward.
- 44 new band-assisted rungs across planche, front lever, back lever, and elbow planche. Because sustained band-assisted holds beat wobbly unassisted attempts.
- Bug fix: no more accidentally starting a new workout with another one still running.
Home: your next rung, named
The next-workout card on Home has always shown what the session is. It now shows why.
Push Focus — Day 3
Next rung · Long Straddle Front Lever Hold
For anyone chasing a skill, the "why" was invisible. You had to open the roadmap page separately to see what came after your current position. Now Home tells you — one line, plain-spoken, exactly the milestone today's session is nudging you toward.
The hint is derived from your skill roadmap and populates for both:
- Focus Split rotations (when you've set one via "Make this my current split")
- Focus Mission recommendations (server-picked programs building toward your chosen skill)
If today's session is a generic strength split without a picked skill, no hint appears — the line just stays quiet.
44 new band-assisted rungs
The old ladders on planche, front lever, back lever, and elbow planche had one problem: you'd hit Tuck Planche at 10 seconds, then try Advanced Tuck and… fall out at 2 seconds. Every session felt like grinding.
At any decent calisthenics gym, ~50% of trainees use bands on levers. Not because they're weak — because a 12-second clean band-assisted hold builds motor patterns and specific-strength better than a 2-second wobbly unassisted one. Time-under-tension matters.
So each of the 4 skills now has band-assisted rungs on every lever progression:
| Skill | Lever tiers | New band rungs |
|---|---|---|
| Planche | Tuck / Adv Tuck / One-Leg / Straddle / Full | +10 |
| Front Lever | Tuck / Adv Tuck / One-Leg / Straddle / Half-Lay / Full | +12 |
| Back Lever | Tuck / Adv Tuck / One-Leg / Straddle / Half-Lay / Full | +12 |
| Elbow Planche | Tuck / Adv Tuck / One-Leg / Straddle / Full | +10 |
| Total | +44 |
Each unassisted lever now has:
- Heavy Assist (thick band, ~-35% BW) — where you own the position and build the pattern
- Light Assist (thin band, ~-15% BW) — where you're doing most of the work
- Unassisted — the milestone
Rung-bumping through Heavy → Light → Unassisted is a real celebration path. You see the progress. You know you're closer.
If you already had a lever rung
Existing rungs are preserved and shifted upward. Users at Straddle Front Lever (previously rung 7) are now at rung 15 — the same movement, the same displayed name, just a bigger ladder around it. Nobody gets sent back to a band-assisted variant they've already proven they can hold unassisted.
If you calibrated at a lower attempt (say, 2 seconds of Tuck Front Lever), you'll now be seeded into the appropriate band-assisted tier. That's the entry point that lets you build with quality time-under-tension instead of grinding.
Priority: your explicit choice wins
Small change with subtle impact. When you have both:
- an activeSplitKey (from tapping "Make this my current split")
- a Focus Mission (auto-picked from your Focus skill)
…the current split now wins. Rationale: tapping "Make this my current split" is the strongest opt-in signal we have. Switching your Focus skill shouldn't kick you out of a rotation you've committed to.
The Focus Mission still appears when no active split is set — same behavior as v1.9, just no longer overriding your commitment.
Bug fix: no more concurrent workouts
You could previously start a new program while another was still running. The result was messy state — timers overlapping, wrong exercises loading, occasional crashes when finishing.
Now: trying to start a second program while one is active shows a clear message pointing you to resume the mini-player or discard the active session first. Nothing weird, nothing silent.
What you'll notice
Open the app after updating and you'll see:
- A "Next rung ·" line below the recommended workout on Home (if you have a Focus skill set).
- New rung names in Focus Split sessions for planche, front lever, back lever, and elbow planche.
- Re-calibrating these four skills will seed you differently. Often more accurately — someone with a 3-second Tuck Front Lever now lands at Tuck (Light Assist), not Tuck unassisted.
- Rung numbers going higher. Full Front Lever moved from rung 9 to rung 21 in the new ladder.
Under the hood
The rung transparency work is Horizon 3a of the recommendation architecture — the roadmap now feeds the engine, not just the visualization. Which rung you see on your roadmap is exactly the rung today's session is building toward. No divergence.
Band-tier expansion completes the "granularity where people actually get stuck" theme that started with the v1.10 rung expansion. Together, planche/FL/BL/elbow planche each now have 21-23 rungs — enough headroom that no user should hit a wall until they're chasing an elite terminal.
What's next
- Athlete Profile — multi-dimensional strength level. Instead of a single "experience level," see your tier per movement family (push/pull/squat/hinge/core) and per skill. Coming in the next release.
- Handstand Coach — AI-assisted form feedback via device camera. Currently in vision-pose spike; ETA later this quarter.
