The last stories

Six audit findings, most small, all the kind of thing that reads as a story if you catch it: an in-workout timer that lied about a next set that didn't exist, a red badge that told you to fix something that wasn't broken, three welcomes in a row, a Continue button that looked ready but wasn't. This release closes them out.

Post-workout Home stops contradicting itself

For Foundations users on the day they finish their session, Home used to render "Today's workout" with a big Start button and an encouragement line saying "First week is about showing up. Three sessions, no rush." Same screen, opposite instructions.

Now, once you've completed today's session, the hero swaps to a calm "Well done · Next session Friday — Full body" card. The week-narrative encouragement (the "no rush" line) is suppressed until your next scheduled day. The "Rest day in between" tag also hides — the hero already says when your next session is, no need to repeat it.

The rest timer stops lying between exercises

Two related fixes to the in-workout rest banner:

  • After the last set of an exercise, the timer used to keep counting down with "Next set in …". There is no next set on this exercise. Now the timer suppresses entirely — the transition IS your Next exercise tap.
  • When you navigate to a new exercise mid-rest, the old timer used to keep ticking behind whatever the new exercise was doing (including a fresh hold timer). Now navigating cancels the rest immediately.

"You are here" no longer looks like "You are done"

The progress-strip dots at the top of the workout marked the current unit with a subtle white ring at 0.7 opacity. On a completed unit, that ring vanished into the solid teal fill and you couldn't tell where you were in the session. Ring is now solid teal at 2pt, and a current-and-done unit dims its inner dot so the ring becomes the visual weight. Distinguishing at a glance.

The Programs tab badge stops sounding like an alert

The red "1" pill on the Programs tab was a discovery hint for new features — but red pills read as pending-work alerts, and the accessibility text said "1 item". Fresh users investigated, found nothing to act on, remembered the badge as a false alarm. Same iOS-native red dot now, no number, no "N items" VoiceOver reading. Discovery signal without the alert connotation.

The Continue button that looked enabled but wasn't

Onboarding's skill picker and the equipment setup screen both had a Continue button that rendered in full saturated teal in the disabled state — identical to the enabled state. Tap did nothing. No explanation. Now disabled Continues on those screens (and everywhere else that uses the same button style) render at a dimmed teal with muted text and outline, matching the visual language used on earlier onboarding screens.

One entrance greeting, not three

The word "Welcome to ZenMotion" used to appear on the sign-in screen, again on the first onboarding screen, and a third time as an eyebrow on the tier-selection step. Now the sign-in screen owns the greeting; the first onboarding screen says "Let's set you up" (you just signed in one screen earlier); the tier step drops the eyebrow entirely and lets the progress bar carry position context.

The First-Run UX audit is now closed. Wave 5, next release, is the dedicated accessibility pass — every VoiceOver label that misses, every touch target under 44pt, the diagnostic goal-card selection trait, and the tappable preview rows the audit flagged for demo content.
