Clips, German and rest timers
Six releases went out in a week and a half, so here they are in one post. The big ones: your best holds saved as clips and shared as Stories, ZenMotion in German, and rest timers that tell you when the next set is due. Around them, a gentler start for new users and a lot of small polish.
Your skill clips (v1.60, v1.63)
After a Coach analysis, tap Keep in skill timeline to save the clip to the step you're working on. Open Your clips on a skill to see your best clip for every step, compare Then and now, and add clips from Photos.
From v1.63 a clip can leave the phone as a Story. Open it in your skill timeline and tap Export clip to get a vertical video with your skill and step on it. Show numbers adds the hold time Coach measured, and Show skeleton draws the pose Coach read. Share it to Instagram Stories, save it to Photos, or send it anywhere.
Clips stay on your phone and in its backup. The exported video is made on your phone too, and nothing is uploaded to ZenMotion.
Sharing to Instagram Stories also got a Sticker format: your stats on a transparent background, placed on top of your own story.
ZenMotion in German (v1.64)
After Swedish and Spanish, ZenMotion now speaks German. If your iPhone is set to German, the whole app follows: screens, workouts, Coach feedback, the Watch app and the Live Activity. To use German in ZenMotion only, go to Settings › Apps › ZenMotion › Language. Settings in the app also has a Language row that shows the current language and takes you straight there.
The Swedish and Spanish texts kept getting polished in every release, screen by screen.
Know when rest is over (v1.65)
If you leave the app during a rest, you now get a Rest is over notification with the set that comes next. Tap it to go straight back to your workout. On the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, a ring counts the rest down and switches to Go when it ends. You can turn the notification off under Notifications › During workouts.
A gentler start (v1.61, v1.62, v1.65)
- Start by training. The workout screen no longer waits for you to find Start. Tap a warm-up exercise, a set or a hold timer and the workout starts, with a short Session started note.
- Go back a step. Every onboarding screen has a back arrow, so you can change an answer before you start. In the short training questions it goes back one question at a time.
- Plan it for later. Not training right after setup? Pick later today, tomorrow morning or tomorrow evening, and ZenMotion reminds you then.
- A redesigned welcome screen, a skill picker that spells out every name, and onboarding screens that read well with large text and VoiceOver.
- Changing your goal now asks first ("Change your goal to Back Lever?") and says what changes: your next workouts, milestones and roadmap. Progress on other skills is kept.
Smaller things
- The equipment hint on a step names what's missing, for example "Add parallettes to train Advanced Tuck Planche".
- Settings are in one place: workout options, Apple Health, Coach AI, notifications, language and your account.
- Strength and skill checks finish properly when a test result is 0.
- Strength profile history shows every day instead of one repeated record, and Home always updates after you save a workout.
- Buttons and rows across the app respond when you press them, and small text has better contrast.
These changes shipped in v1.60.0 through v1.65.0. Feedback welcome at support@zenmotion.app.
