A smoother start, a lighter app

Four releases since the last post. Most of the work went into the first minutes with ZenMotion: setup that is clearer, never loses your answers and is easy to back out of. The app also got a lot smaller to download, and your plan now has one name everywhere: rotation.

A smoother start (v1.66, v1.67)

  • Plain words. The setup screens say what they mean, for example "skill plan" instead of "Focus Split". The journey preview has one Continue button instead of two that did the same thing, and the Ready screen no longer shows a session length that didn't match every plan.
  • Your answers are safe. If your plan can't be created, for example on a weak connection, your answers stay and you can tap Try again, instead of landing on Home without a plan.
  • Easy to back out of. Updating your plan from Profile now starts with Update your plan, and every step before your answers are sent has a close button that takes you back with your plan unchanged.
  • No double offers. After setup, Home no longer offers a strength calibration on top of the workout you just scheduled. On the home equipment step, the skip button says what it does: it assumes full gym access.
  • Not a new user twice. Sign in on a new phone or after a reinstall, and ZenMotion no longer shows first-workout tips or extra setup sheets once you have trained.
  • Better with large text and VoiceOver. Buttons with long labels grow instead of cutting off text, each new question is announced, and every screen title is a heading.
  • Sign in with Apple shows a spinner while it works and tells you why if it doesn't go through. Closing Apple's sheet no longer shows an error.

A fairer workout summary (v1.66)

Missing one exercise out of nine still counts as a solid session, and the summary tells you which exercise came in under target. It only calls a session tough when misses are a real share of the workout, or when you missed the main skill exercise.

Lighter and clearer (v1.68)

The program and premium artwork is stored far more efficiently, so the app takes up much less space, with no visible change to the images.

Coach got clearer words too. The beta note explains that Coach is still being tuned on real videos and that its cues are guidance, not a verdict. After a tough session, the note says that coming in under target often points to fatigue or how the program fits, not your capacity. The AI session summary has one name everywhere, in Coach and in Settings.

Your rotation (v1.69)

Your training plan now has one name: rotation. Screens that used to say "split" say "rotation", for example Next in your rotation on Home and Skill Focus Rotations in Programs. The "Tune my split" row is gone from the Menu. You still change your focus skill when you edit your plan, and that screen is now simply called Focus skill.

Smaller things

  • Coach asks you to prop your phone up beside you, so it's clear it needs a side view.
  • Stats, session insights, Challenges, the skill roadmap and the gear summary in Profile use the right singular and plural, and VoiceOver reads hold times on the roadmap naturally.
  • On Apple Watch and in the widgets, seconds use the right singular and plural, and the rest-day widget no longer repeats itself.
  • Plainer English in Coach, Challenges, Settings and Account, and smoother Swedish, Spanish and German across the app.

These changes shipped in v1.66.0 through v1.69.0. Feedback welcome at support@zenmotion.app.
